Theatre Arts Improvisation Class – Grades 3 – 6
Carter County Drug Prevention Office 1217 W. G. Street, Elizabethton, TN, United StatesThursdays, June 18th - July 23rd Registration is first come, first serve with a max of 10 kids Grades 3 - 6 Dress Code Suggestion: Please, have children dress in comfortable clothing they can easily move in. Also, be aware that students may sit on the floor, which will be swept before each class. However, if children have a sensitivity to this, they are welcome to bring a clean towel to sit on. Our Fatherhood Reconnection Program focuses on supporting fathers in recovery as they navigate the challenges of reconnecting with their children after years of absence. Carter County Drug Prevention Fatherhood Support Program WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Youth without a highly involved father are at a greater risk of early substance use. Studies show that up to 75% of adolescents in substance abuse treatment come from fatherless homes. Involved fathers boost a child's security, self-esteem, and success in school and life. In contrast, father absence increases the risk of delinquency—85% of youth in prison come from fatherless homes and face a higher chance of incarceration as adults. Children with both an involved father and mother have better physical and mental health, stronger problem-solving skills, and greater confidence and empathy. They also develop more self-control and moral awareness. In contrast, fatherless children face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide. Create & Cope: Youth Art Workshop
Carter County Drug Prevention Office 1217 W. G. Street, Elizabethton, TN, United StatesFree art workshop for youth ages 8-18. This gathering is held in an open creativity environment where youth will be encouraged to express themselves and learn how visual arts can serve as a healthy coping skills. Snacks and drinks provided. Workshops are led by our Executive Director, Nash Acuña, Professional Artist and Certified Creative Life Coach Special thanks to TDMHSAS and The Mooneyhan Family Foundation for their support of this program!
