Individuals with addictive personalities may be especially vulnerable to gambling problems during this time. Additionally, some people may switch from one addiction to another, such as from substance abuse to gambling, if underlying issues remain untreated. The seasonal spike in gambling-related problems highlights the need for targeted treatment during high-risk periods.
