Mentor Training

Carter County Drug Prevention Office 1217 W. G. Street, Elizabethton

Take the first step toward becoming a mentor with this informative training. In this free 3 hour training, we will learn healthy ways to engage with youth, how to create and implement safe and nurturing events and environments, as well as fostering positive connections. If you have the time and  willingness to devote 1 hour per week with your "Mentee match", go ahead and sign up. We also offer Group mentoring once a week for group sports and life skills classes. Mentees are between the ages 6-17. This program is 100% free. This is a day of community service for youth in 4th through 12th grade. Everyone is welcome to join! This is a great opportunity to build leadership skills, accumulate community service hours and meet scholarship opportunities. We will meet monthly on the 3rd Saturday. Take in breathtaking views as we hike into the sunset together. Date: Saturday, October 17th 4-8 pm For this hike we will meet promptly at 3:45 behind the post office in Roan Mountain before heading up the mountain. A liability waiver will be signed upon arrival. Address: 8060 US-19E, Roan Mountain, TN 37687 Who: Everyone is encouraged to join us for this hike as we will in the peak of fall and will have some beautiful views. What to bring/wear: Hiking shoes, water, snacks, bug spray, camera/phone and a light jacket may be needed. Weather permitting, please follow our Facebook for updates.
