Parenting Support

We provide support and resources to all parents in the community. As well as support and resources for their youth growing up in our community.

Family Dinner Book Club: Growing Book by Book

Last Wednesday of Every Month @ 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Every 4th Wednesday, each family will be provided with a book to read with their family for the following month. When we meet again, we will have a themed menu, table crafts, conversation starters and family engagement. This event is for families with children of all ages.

Hosted in partnership with Recovery Resources, Bridge to Shore Recovery, and the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library, Family Dinner Book Club helps families experience encouragement, support, and a sense of belonging — one meal at a time.

Monthly parenting classes

2nd Wednesday of Every Month @ 6:30pm

Monthly Parenting Classes

Carter County Drug Prevention hosts monthly parenting classes that provide a supportive space for caregivers to learn, grow, and connect. Each session covers practical strategies for raising children, co-parenting effectively, navigating challenges, and strengthening family relationships. Classes include interactive discussions, expert guidance, and opportunities to share experiences with other parents. Children are always welcome, so families can participate together.

Supporting Mothers in Recovery

Mom Support Group
1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday @ 6:30pm

Elizabethton Public Library

Carter County Drug Prevention’s Mom Group is a supportive space for mothers in recovery to connect, share their experiences, and build confidence in parenting. Through open conversation, peer support, and meaningful activities, moms can find encouragement and community as they navigate recovery and motherhood.

The group meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th wednesday of each month and often features guest speakers who provide insight, resources, and inspiration for moms working to rebuild their lives and relationships with their children. Children are always welcome!

The Dad Closet

Helping Fathers Provide for their children

Carter County Drug Prevention’s Dad Closet is a free resource for fathers in recovery, offering clothing, hygiene items, toys, and other essential supplies to help them feel confident and supported. Whether it’s a small gift to bring to a visit, something their child needs, or basic necessities, the Dad Closet is here to remove barriers and help dads focus on reconnecting with their children. By meeting practical needs with dignity, we support fathers on their journey toward stability, family reunification, and lasting recovery.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

The League of Ordinary Gentlemen is a support and empowerment group for fathers in recovery, led by Carter County Drug Prevention. We focus on helping dads rebuild strong, healthy relationships with their children and families. Through connection, skill-building, and community-based activities, the group creates space for honest conversations, shared challenges, and personal growth. Whether you’re a father working to reconnect or simply trying to become the dad you want to be, you’re not alone — and you’re always welcome here.
